Let’s aim for more joy this Christmas and less stress!
I’ve seen lots of posts floating around about the “right” way to do Christmas with your family.
To be honest, at first I found myself reading them & falling into the comparison game. This led me down the path of trying to change the way our family does Christmas. But then somewhere along the way, I felt God gently whisper… stop comparing! It’s enough to make anyone crazy trying to make Christmas what everyone is telling you it ought to be.
Here’s my encouragement for you today… don’t listen to everyone else!
Focus your heart on Jesus first. Next, evaluate your family’s budget & your family’s calendar. Once you have laid it all before the Lord, do what brings joy to your family & glory to Him!This might mean a simple (less gifts, less commitments) Christmas or it could mean a crazy (more gifts, tons of commitments) Christmas. This might look different each year.
I’m not saying that there aren’t times to re-evaluate your holiday budget, calendar or traditions. There are certainly times for that, but don’t re-evaluate everything simply because of comparison.
It doesn’t have to be Pinterest perfect to bring joy to your family & glory to our King!
As we focus our hearts on Jesus, the rest will fall into place.
